The final regulatory action was based on a risk or hazard evaluation: Yes Summary of the final regulatory action: Dinoseb has been deleted from Poison List 1 of the Swiss Federal Agency of Health (see attached letter of the Swiss Federal Agency of Health, dated 24 April 2001: "Dinoseb Re-evaluation der gesundheitlichen Risiken bei der Verwendung als Herbizid" (Reevaluation of Dinoseb health risks in its use as a herbicide"). This means that all products ie pesticides containing Dinoseb and its salts and acetate loose their registration and will be deleted from Poison List 2 of the Swiss Federal Agency for Health. The reasons for the final regulatory action were relevant to: Human health Summary of known hazards and risks to human health: Dinoseb applications can lead to unacceptable health effects in operators, as has been shown using exposure models. It follows, that the most effective measures have to be taken, namely the cancellation of current registrations. According to Swiss Poison Law, dinoseb (and its acetate and salts) will therefore be deleted from poison list 1 (Giftliste 1). It follows that, after a transition period, products containing dinoseb will not be registered anymore.
