The reasons for the final regulatory action were relevant to: Human health and environment Summary of known hazards and risks to human health: It was concluded that no plant protection product containing the active substance triasulfuron is expected to satisfy in general the requirements laid down in Article 29(1) of Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 and the uniform principles laid down in Regulation (EC) 546/2011. According to the evaluation related to human health the following concerns were identified: - regarding the exposure of consumers, workers, operators and bystanders, no reference values could be set due to uncertainties as regards the genotoxic potential of the active substance and its impurity triazine amine (CGA150829). - the lack of compliance of the mammalian toxicity batches with the new specification. - the potential for groundwater exposure above the parametric drinking water limit of 0.1 g/L for 8/9 groundwater scenarios, for all representative uses, for the parent compound. Expected effect of the final regulatory action in relation to human health: Reduction of risk for the human health from the use of plant protection products containing triasulfuron. Summary of known hazards and risks to the environment: It was concluded that no plant protection product containing the active substance triasulfuron is expected to satisfy in general the requirements laid down in Article 29(1) of Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 and the uniform principles laid down In Regulation (EC) 546/2011. According to the evaluation related to environment the following concerns were identified: - the high potential for groundwater exposure above the parametric drinking water limit of 0.1 g/L for all representative uses in geoclimatic situations that are represented by 8 out of 9 groundwater modelling scenarios for the parent compound. - a high risk to aquatic plants. Expected effect of the final regulatory action in relation to the environment: Reduction of risk for the environment from the use of plant protection products containing triasulfuron.
