The Decision Guidance Document on Fluoroacetamide notes the following in the section on summary of control actions:
The use of Fluoroacetamide has been curtailed principally because of its high acute toxicity to man and to other mammals and birds.

The elimination of adverse effects on the population of South Africa resulting from the use of Fluoroacetamide.

Summary of known hazards and risks to the environment:

The Decision Guidance Document on Fluoroacetamide prepared by the UNEP/FAO for the Secretariat for the Rotterdam Convention on Prior Informed Consent Procedure for Certain hazardous Chemicals and Pesticides in International Trade indicates that this chemical is highly soluble in water and it indicates the danger of water contamination, and further notes that poisoning of fish and other aquatic life are common.

Reduction of Fluoroacetamide in the environment.
