Thallium sulphate is a slow acting cumulative poison that can effect human and other non-target species. It is acutely toxic when ingested and is hazard to individuals exposed dermally. The danger to humans is increased by the tendency of thallium to be stored in the body and to build up critical levels by continued exposure so that permanent damage to vital organs or death may occur. It is also persistent and was associated with numerous kills involving non-target species.
