The applicants for the registration renewal of the pesticide "Herbol" containing sodium dimethylarsenate and dimethylarsenic acid withdrew their registration request during an audition carried out by the pesticide committee, in which the carcinogenic properties of the chemical were exposed by the committee members. As an additional outcome, the use and marketing of the product was stopped.

The decision is valid for all registration requests of insecticides for the Plant Protection sector containing sodium dimethylarsenate and dimethylarsenic acid, and there is not any product registered containing these chemicals.
