Since December 5th, 2008, the production, circulation, use, import and export of methamidophos have all been banned in China according to Announcement No. 1 of 2008 jointly issued by the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Agriculture, State Administartion for Industry and Commerce, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, Ministry of Environmental Protection and the state Administration of Work Safety.

Plant Protection Law No 7664, article 24: "No individual or legal entity may import, export, manufacture, formulate, store, distribute, transport, repack, advertise, manipulate, mix, sell or use chemical, biological or related substances for agricultural use, that are not already present in the country, there are products registered under this law ... " registered formulations containing methamidophos in their formulation.
2. Formulated products that contain this active ingredient are restricted, the above based on the Protection Act "Chemical, Biological or Plant Protection Substances, Law No 07664, article 29, for agricultural use classified in the category of highest toxicity and those declared of restricted use should be sold only by prescription issued by a professional in Agricultural Sciences, member of College of Agricultural Engineers. The prescription will contain technical agronomic specifications and indications, and application methods.
Remarks:
Sale in the country of formulated products containing Metamidofos should only be by prescription issued by a professional in Agricultural Sciences, member of College of Agricultural Engineers of Costa Rica.

Description of the national legislative or administrative measure:
It is prohibited to place on the market or use plant protection products containing
methamidophos, since this active substance is not approved under Regulation (EC) No
1107/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 October 2009 concerning the
placing of plant protection products on the market and repealing Council Directives 79/117/EEC
and 91/414/EEC (OJ L309, 24.11.2009, p. 1).
Furthermore, it is prohibited to make available on the market or use biocidal products containing
methamidophos, since no biocidal products containing that active substance are authorised
pursuant to Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22
May 2012 concerning the making available on the market and use of biocidal products (OJ L167, 27.6.2012, p.1).

a) Consent is given for import of metamidophos as registered with Pesticides Board. Only for use as a trunk injection on coconut and oil palm. User are required to obtain a permit from the Pesticides Board to purchase and use this chemical.
b)Consent is given for import of Methamidophos as registered with Pesticides Board for the use as technical grade for manufacturing purpose.

Legislative or administrative measures:
Executive Decree No. 305, September 2002, published in Official Gazette No. 24634, 9 September 2002, introduces a national legislative measure. Its Article V states: "All substances that are banned or severely restricted in at least four States will also be restricted in our country". Metamidophos is substance No.463 of Annex I to this Executive Decree. Resolution 24, 10 June 2011, published in the Official Gazette No. 26809, of 17 June 2011, bans this active ingredient use in agriculture.
Remarks:
Currently, there are no inventories of this product. Import and use in agriculture is prohibited due to highly harmful effects on public health, and its polluting effect on the environment, as reported in multiple international studies.

Currently this pesticide has been withdrawn from registration in Trinidad and Tobagp and no further shipments are allowed. As such no import licecnses will be issued for the importation of this pesticide. All imports of Alachlor have been notified of these actions. This is as required under the Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Act 1979 and Pesticides Import Licensing and Pesticides Registration Regulations 1987.

Legislative or administrative measures:
According to the Law on Veterinary Services, Plant Health, Food and Feed Law no. 5996 dated 11/06/2010 and the By-law On Licensing/Registration Marketing of Plant Protection Products (Official Gazette no. 30235 dated 09.11.2017), marketing (including import) and use of unregistered plant protection products within the territory of the country are prohibited. In the world chemicals market Methamidophos has/ have been used as biocidal product. According to the By-law on Biocidal Products (Official Gazette no. 27449 dated 31.12.2019), marketing (including import) and use of unregistered biocidal products within territory of the country are also prohibited. Methamidophos is not registered as plant protection product or biocidal product in the country therefore the final decision of Turkey is no consent to import.
