However, this substance may be used in the formulation of a pesticide or a veterinary medicine. Tributyltin methacrylate - 2155-70-6 - Does not have individual approval but may be used as a component in a product covered by a group standard. Tributyltin benzoate - 4342-36-3 - Does not have individual approval but may be used as a component in a product covered by a group standard. Tributyltin oxide - 56-35-9 - Approved with controls - Active ingredient notification - requirements for notification of pesticide and veterinary medicine active ingredients. Under section 25 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 (HSNO) it is prohibited for hazardous substance to be imported or manufactured without approval under the HSNO Act. Any hazardous substance containing Tributyl tin compounds will need an approval under the HSNO Act before it can be imported into or manufactured in New Zealand. | Remarks:
Tributyl tin compounds are also listed in Schedule 2: Rotterdam Chemicals of the Imports and Exports (Restrictions) Prohibition Order (No 2) 2004. They may not be exported unless a permit is issued by the Environmental Protection Authority, which is subject to particular conditions and restrictions. If any Tributyl tin compounds are used as a pesticide or veterinary medicine, they will also be subject to the conditions of a registration under the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997 (ACVM Act). |

It is prohibited to manufacture, place on the market (including import) or use perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), its salts and PFOA-related compounds or any substance or preparation containing perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), its salts and PFOA-related compounds if they exceed the concentrations laid down in Annex 1.16 Chapter 3.2 para 1 letter b point 1 and 2 of the Ordinance on the Reduction of Risks relating to the Use of Certain Particularly Dangerous Substances, Preparations and Articles, SR814.81. The following exemptions from the prohibitions apply: the manufacture and placing on the market of PFOA, its salts and PFOA-related compounds or any substance or preparation containing perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), its salts and PFOA-related compounds for the following uses: oanalysis and research ophotolithographic or etching processes in semiconductor manufacture; until 4. July 2025 oproduction of photographic coatings on films until 4 July 2025 oproduction of invasive and implantable medical devices until 4 July 2025 the manufacture, placing on the market and use of substances or preparations containing perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), its salts and PFOA-related compounds at most as unavoidable by-products as intermediates. The intermediates may only be used for the manufacture of fluorochemicals with a perfluoro carbon chain containing no more than 6 atoms if in the manufacture of the fluorochemicals the emissions of PFOA, its salts and PFOA-related compounds are avoided according to the state of the art or, if this is not possible, are reduced to a minimum the placing on the market and use of perfluorooctyl bromide containing perfluorooctyl iodide for the manufacture of pharmaceutical products until 31 December 2036. The prohibition and exemptions are laid down in Chapter 3 and 5 of Annex 1.16 of the Ordinance on the Reduction of Risks relating to the Use of Certain Particularly Dangerous Substances, Preparations and Articles, SR814.81. |
